Julian is turning 2 soon! Julian can talk liao! So mommy is putting him on boxer to potty train him! BUT this naughty monster still refuse to tell mommy and Aunty Lorna that he wants to "wee wee". He is still referring himself as bb Julian! Just refuse to grow up!

Bb Julian is very jealous about his bb brother. Refuse to let him play with his toys, sleep on his bed so whenever he doesn't want to keep his toy or refuse to eat his food... We will tell him, " give bb Gar Gar, Ok?". There is only 1 thing he will let bb Gar Gar first... Take medicine!

Julian 学华语

Julian is taking up weekend Chinese lesson in Kinderland (starting from 5/7/2008). He is not really interested in Chinese and was not paying attention in class. Mommy has begin to worry that he will soon become a BANANA!

Mommy's 36th B-day

It's MY 36th birthday! We had lunch in Swenson. My greatest gifts are bb Julian and Gar Gar... of cos that includes my Princess Nicole too! (altho' she can't come to restaurant.)

Gar Gar first taste!

Mommy has given bb Gar Gar his 1st taste of cereal at 5m old. Mommy bought a pack of brown rice cereal for him and after taken it for 2 days, he had a constipation and made a lot of noises. After consulting his paediatrician, mommy realised baby can't take brown rice yet. He couldn't digest - BIG MISTAKE! Mommy switched to just plain rice cereal for him.

Aunty Lorna said he was quite impatient, he wanted his food very fast unlike gor gor, the fussy eater. This time, Mommy is very determined not to repeat the same mistake as gor gor, mommy is going to stick to cereal for him only. Gar Gar, u dun have choice, Ok!

Bb Gar Gar is 5m old today. He is weighing @ 8kg. This rolly polly finally has learnt how to roll over and roll back (with much difficulties). He is a very bad tempered baby. Now gor gor is always bullying him but I guess in the near future, he will take his revenge soon! Green Eye Julian, u beta watch out!

Daddy's 37th B-day

It's Daddy's 37th birthday. Mummy bought a birthday cake and an magnetic braclet on our behalf. Cake is very yummy and Julian loves it very much.

Child Abuse!

It's Julian's unlucky day today. He made so much noise that Daddy couldn't take it anymore, came out of his room and whacked the hell out of him. Poor Julian : (

Julian is sick

After 4weeks of sleepless nights for me, Gar Gar is finally recovering from his bronchitis. Then it's now Julian's turn. Julian is down with bronchitis. Didi has passed his virus to gor gor so mommy has to endure sleepless nights again. Luckily, Aunty Lorna helps to take care of Julian when he wakes up in the early morning (like 6am... Julian is an early bird) so Mommy could steal an hour or 2 of sleep with Gar Gar.

When I see Gar Gar whizzing with phlegm, I felt so heartaache cos he is afterall only 3 months old. Now seeing Julian's coughing so badly especially in the middle of the nights and early mornings that he cried badly, I wish I could take his place and not let him suffer. So what I could do is just take good care of them day and night and hope that both my princes will recover soon.

"BB Julian & Gar Gar, please recover soon. Next month will be Julian's 2 years old birthday and mommy would like to take u out to celebrate your birthday in Singapore Flyer!"


p.s.: Seeing this 2 lovely monsters, i couldn't help grinning. Being a mommy to my 2 little monsters is such a wonderful happening in my life! Of course that includes Nicole! I'm already planning to do another Tattoo "JNG". They are just the love of my life!

Mother's Day ~ 13.05.2008

This is Mommy's 2nd Mother's Day with Julian and 1st with Baby Gar Gar. Unfortunately, Jie jie can't enter the restaurant, otherwise I will have all my children with me!

This year we celebrated the Mother's Day with ah ma, uncles and aunties. We had dinner at Premier Thai. The dinner cost over S$800.00. Though it is a bit ex but it is definitely worth it cos Ah ma has not been out for dinner with her children for a long time since she is down with Parkinson.

As for popo, mommy bought popo some Thai food and delivered the dinner back for her. Mommy was caught in a 2hours traffic jam.

This is really a very memorable Mother's Day for me!

Julian First!

Julian First Changi Airport Tour:
Mymo Garden brought the caterpillars (Julian's playgroup is called the caterpillar) out to Changi Airport for a tour in February 2008. As mommy has just completed her confinement so couldn't accompany him for the tour. Nevertheless, by looking at the photos that the teachers took, I'm sure he had enjoyed his excursion very much. Many thanks to all the teachers of MyMo for taking good care of my precious one.

Julian First Pyjamas Party:
Julian had his first pyjamas party on 25th April 2008. He was studying Letter "P" for the week so his teachers decided on the P for pyjamas party for them! My son so "in"! Mommy also has never ever attended a Pyjamas party ever! Look at his "stylish heirloom pyjamas"! Nobody has it! This pc of heirloom is at least 30 years old, pass down from Uncle Nick.

"Baby Julian, u better dun spoil it cos u need to pass to bb Gar Gar and then perhap back to Uncle Nick's son...."

Julian first Botanic Garden Tour:
The school organised a "Jacob Ballas Children's Garden" Tour at Botanic Garden on 30th May 2008. Mommy got Aunty Lorna to accompany him cos it was Aunty Lorna first too! However, bb Julian became cranky and Aunty Lorna had to follow him around so she didn't get to explore around much. I hope he had enjoyed his excursion!

Julian First Movie Experience :
Julian's godma got hold of some free tickets for the Premier of the "Chronicles of Narnia - Prince Caspian" on 31st May 2008. Before mommy and Julian attended the show, mommy was skeptical about Julian being able to finish the whole show. So mommy has told everyone that she is prepared to leave the show if Julian goes cranky. Surprisely, Julian sat thro' the 2 hours show despite the total darkness & loud noises in the cinema. He enjoyed the movie so much. He was so excited when the monsters and lion appeared in the movie.

Gar Gar is 4m old!

Garwyn is 4m old! Dun be deceived by this photo. The rolly polly still can't do the roll over yet. He is weighing at 6.7kg and 62cm long now. Aunty Lorna commented he is just too heavy to do the stunt! Now without my instruction, nobody is allowed to carry him. He needs to practice it!

Today Gar Gar went for his second hair cut at QB house. His entourage includes Daddy, Mommy, Aunty See See, Aunty Lorna, Gor Gor (Monster Julian) and Jie Jie (Sweetheart Nicole). The hairstylist needs to politely ask us to stay outside to wait cos his shop can't accomodate such big family. It's really hard for them to earn the S$7.00. Ha ha..

Garwyn is sick

I looked at my last blog which was dated 14.04.2008. I'm so lagging behind. There are so many thing about my children but no time to update. Gar Gar has been sick since he is 3 month old and is still fighting to recover from bronchitis. Next week, he will be 4m old.

We have visited a PD for 3 times and spent almost S$600.00 on his medical bills. He was on nebuliser for 2 weeks and now on inhaler. For the last 2 wk, I've not been sleeping well cos I need to neb him every four hourly and 5 times a day which means 20 hours a day. Beside, waking up in the middle of the night to neb him, I've to breast feed him and also express milk in the middle of the night so that I've enough stored breast milk for Julian too. In the day time, I need to drive Julian to and back from school and run errand. So it is very tiring for me. Till now, Gar Gar is still coughing and has phlegm. The PD said it will take about another 2 weeks to recover from cough and 1 month for the phlegm to fully dissolve.

Gar Gar is coming 4 month old next week and he is now weighing 6.5kg. He is very cute and chubby. He seem to understand Cantonese so I'm speaking to him in English and Cantonese so as not to repeat the same mistake. Julian is now only monolingual in English. I call him a "banana". Little Gar Gar always wanted us to carry him and as he is sick so we tend to pamper him a little and carry him often. I guess that is why till now he still haven't learn to flip over which Julian has done it when he was 3.5 month old.

As for Julian, he has grown into a talkative little monster, terrorising Nicole and Gar Gar so I bought a cane and hang it around the house. Whenever he kicks Nicole and poke Gar Gar's eye, I'll show him the cane. Then he will pretend to hug and kiss his siblings to make peace. He is really "plastic". Maybe it's a gene from Daddy or Auntie Winnie. Ha ha.. But for sure his cheekiness is from Daddy. The teachers have been complaining that Julian always hug and kiss his female classmates... n he can't keep his eyes off pretty gals. He will wave his hand and give them the brightest smile and say hi whenever he sees one.

Julian First Swimming Experience

Julian developed an interest in swimming after watching the SEA GAME 2007. Recently, he saw bb Gar Gar bathing in a bath tub and keep wanting to swim in it. So his "swimming pool" is the little bath tub with a "little tike" turtle in it.

Mommy decided to widen his horizon by showing him what a swimming pool is like. Daddy said go SAFRA but realised his card has expired so we settled for Yishun swimming pool instead. It was an eye opener for him. He was surprised, excited and his favourite "SCARED". Mommy helped him put on Tommy Hilfiger swimming trunk bought by Aunty Jannet from US and swimming pool, here he come! Mommy gave him a doggy float which his god mommy bought for him but he was very scared to use it. I guess is because he feels insecure as his feet couldn't touch the floor. He had alot of fun with just walking around the pool and sliding in the pool. He was reluctant to leave the pool and kept saying "BYE BYE POOL". Mommy promised him that we will come again and this time with a floating vest that Mommy had bought for him!

After the swim, he ate 3/4 plate of chicken rice!

Monkey Business

一生何求

A long lost friend called a couple of days ago, updating me about her life. She bragged about her high flying career, globe trotting lifestyle, her new Bukit Timah apartment blar blar... She called me silly to have hung up my degree and years of experiences to be a stay at home mom. I began to ponder about what she said....

There are really times that I feel fustrated and wish I am back in office again. But it is ultimately the decision of what I like and what I love in my life. Having a career is definitely what I would like. Being call a career woman, earning at least S$60,000 a year, have my own car, my own lady's platimum card, wearing the heels and power suit is of cos what I would like to have. However, u may call me a loser that I have decided to drop out of the rat race. The cancerian nature in me has chosen what I love in life, i.e, to let 2 little champion sperms into my womb and start growing in my tummy for 39 weeks and 36 weeks respectively. The result is Julian and Garwyn. This is the most wonderful thing I have done in my life! It is a MIRACLE that GOD has created and I am continuing it. And God is so nice to me that he has given me not one but two beautiful sons who have inherited the best of their Aunties features - lovely dimples!

People will greet u as a director, boss or even Dr (if u have a doctorate) but nothing beats when your kids call u "MOMMY". This is PRICELESS! In office, your boss will often say "NO ONE is indispensable." but my children can't live without me. Julian will cry out for Mommy whenever he is into some kinda of troubles and Garwyn will hold on to me like a koala bear to sleep every night.... Now my satisfaction neither comes from promotion nor praises from superiors but from people who praises my children. I can proudly tell them they are my kids!

Actually, I still holds a very important job! I am an investor. My children are my potential assets and if I don't nurture them well, they will become liabilities. Who knows, I may be in process of nurturing a future founder of a multi-billion co., a Prime Minister or a President of a state. Then I'll be able to get Julian and Garwyn to back-pay me my annual income of Hmmmmm... S$100,000 multiply by x no of years of being call "ah soh". Ha ha....

Bye! Nanny..

Bye Bye... Mommy Ying! After 2 months stay, finally we have to say bye bye. Today is our nanny last day. We brought her to Auntie Irene "5 Star chicken rice" to have a sumptuous lunch before driving her to the custom. Luckily, the Woodlands checkpoint was cleared. Very unwilling to let her go cos all these times from the day Julian was born... She has been taking care of us like a Mother!

Mommy Ying is a generous lady. She is always willing to impart her knowledge and skill to us. I guess I wouldn't be successful in breastfeeding Julian till one year old if not for her patience and encouragement. My maid and I have also learnt to cook simple and healthy meals from her. So now she has left, this mean no more home cooked meals for us... : (

A mother journal - Part II

Being a mother is about sacrifices! Running after my little Julian, playing with him, driving him to/from school.... night feeds for bb Gar Gar... has left me with little time of my own. No more chit chatting with friends at coffee bean, lack of sleep, no more globe-trotting... but it is really worth it cos their laughter will make me forget about tireness... I haven't regretted about it since!

I may not be a perfect mommy and I'm still learning. Since I've become a Mommy, I've learnt to set good examples for my kids like to be punctual. This is something I never would have achieve it! These are the rules I've set for myself to be a good Mommy.

Rules to be a good parents.

1. Learn from our childhood. Do not repeat history.
2. Invest time. So you won't miss it & regret about it.
3. Be patience. If you can't do that, stay away from it for a while in order to avoid doing thing that make you regret later.
4. Give them a happy childhood is more important than leaving them wealth. With a happy childhood, they will grow up with a healthy mind. They will then achieve their goals and eventually their empires.
5. Give them a good education. Not just academic but moral too.
6. Most importantly, always put yourselves in their shoes. Think as they think.

Robin Hood is 20m old!

My Robin Hood is 20m old! Children really grow everyday! It seem like he suddenly becomes very talkative at the moment he woke up on his 20th month old day! At the same time, he also know how to throw tantrum but Mommy would not let him have his ways!

He could now speak a number of words. His favourite are "DUN", "DUN WAN". He has been saying "go swimming" although he has never been to a swimming pool before. So Mommy will use bb Gar Gar's bath tub and put him for a "swim" after Gar Gar has taken his bath (Save water mah!). Looks like Mommy has to buy a swim suit to go swimming with Julian. Hmmmm.... some problems here. Where to find a swimsuit for an elephant who can't swim!

Garwyn is 2m old

Baby Gar Gar is 2m old! The little prince is still as bad temper as before. He has learnt to throw tantrum and always want "CARRY". Now he can differentiate a milk bottle and breast sucking. Of course he prefer the latter but Mommy is clever not to repeat the same mistake (as bb Julian) so insist to bottle feed him at least twice a day!

O yes! Bb Gar Gar is a YOGA GURU too! He does his stretching almost 24 hours a day and even in his sleep. The old folk said the more the baby stretch the taller they grow. Maybe he just doesn't wanna be as short as Mommy!

Garywn's vaccination

Bb Gar Gar had his first 6-in-1 vaccination & oral rotarix on 11.03.2008. He was such a brave boy as he only cried a little. Nanny and Mommy have come to a conclusion that he can endure pain but not hunger (cos' he crys louder and longer till his lip shakes when he wants milk). Most importantly, at 6 weeks plus and he already weighs 5kg. Very soon Mommy will have to upgrade his diaper size to M!

Our Future "Jay Chow"

This is our little drummer in the making. Mommy bought him a set of drum to develop his "music cells". Hopefully he will become a future star like "Jay Chow". Mommy will then be his manager and start collecting money..... ke ke ke... So the price tag of S$24.90 is really worth investing.

Humpty Dumpty had a great fall!

My little Humpty Dumpty had a great fall! Yesterday, Mommy brought the children back to grandparents' home then Mommy decided to bring Julian to Parkway Parade.

When we reached the 12th floor to take a lift, Julian refused to hold mommy's hand so mommy walked to the front and coaxed him to walk. Then he decided to run towards mommy but this Humpty Dumpty fell face flat onto the concrete floor with a loud "PAK"! After seeing his injuries, Mommy felt so heartache and was moody for the rest of the day. No more interest to shop and lose appetite during dinner.

Green Eyes Monster

Our little bb Julian has become a Green Eye Monster! He is now very jealous of Baby Gar Gar and will strike whenever he has opportunity. If it is during his sleeping time and mommy has to breastfeed Gar Gar, he will cry and cry... He will not allow the maid to carry Bb Gar Gar too!

Sometimes he will be especially naughty to get our attention. Luckily, Nanny is still here to take care of Gar Gar, otherwise Julian will have to see a shrink! Ha ha...

Our little princess is also fighting for attention. She will either take a toy and sit infront of mommy or keep scratching my mommy's hand 7-11 everyday for me to massage her. There are times that I really can't stand her and I've to use my "secret weapon", i.e., "Nicole. let's go shower shower.." and she will have to find a place to hide...

Conclusion: It's not about having more helpers at home but more mommy instead. Anyone knows how to clone me?!

Thanks God for giving me such a wonderful mommy. Please God, please ensure my mommy's small little breasts have endless flow of milk milk...especially during my "HappY Hours" between 6pm - 11pm. Thanks God, it's my mommy's free flow of milk supply that allows me to "balloon" from a 2.4kg to 5kg little chub in just 6 weeks. A men!

Julian's sick

Julian is having a hi-fever since Sat (8th March 2008). Brought him to visit a GP in the afternoon. His fever has reached above 39C. Mommy so worried. Even Auntie Lorna is worried and keep sponging him.

In the past, we would put medicine in his milk and he would drink it but now he has grown up and detected the smell and refused to drink milk. He refuses any drink except plain water.

So we have no choice but to feed him the medicine with the syringe. Auntie Lorna will hold him down and I will have to pinch his nose so that he will open his mouth. He will cry and scream for "Mommy, mommy...." It's like I'm abusing him. It really pain my heart to see him struggle.

I had been waking up in the middle of the nights to check on him (even the maid too). On Sat night, his fever had reached 39.8C and he was in the daze and keep saying "Daddy beat...Daddy beat..." I gave him his medication and stay up till his fever subsided.

BB Garwyn Had a follow up checkup with Dr Watt on 26.01.2008.

His development is as follows:
weight 4.55 kg
height 56 cm
head circumference 36.5cm

As compared with Bb Julian at 1m old.....
weight 4.6 kg
height 54 cm
head circumference 39.5cm

Although Gar Gar is a 36 weeker but at 1m old he is almost on par with gor gor Julian. However, gor gor Julian is still the unbeatable BIG HEAD MONSTER!

Garwyn's 1m celebration

BB Gar Gar's 1 month celebration is held at Canton Wok by Chef Kang. The food is very nice n cheap! Most of the guests commented the dishes taste "marvellicious". Auntie Unique already said she wants the next reunion dinner to be held there. By then Gar Gar will be one yr old so we'll have a 3 in 1 celebration - po po's birthday, gar gar's birthday and reunion dinner. Ha ha .... save a lot!

It's end of confinement for Mummy n BB Gar Gar which means "end of imprisonment" for Mummy!

Nanny Ya Ying- She was the nanny when BB Julian was born. Now she especially come back to help me with my confinement. She has taken good care of BB Gar Gar and me. Imagine BB Gar Gar was only 2.4kg when he was discharged and one month later, he is now 4.55kg!

Aromatherapist Pauline - She did a great job in my post-natal massage and wrap that I am able to get back to shape faster.

Auntie Lorna - While I was confined to my bed. She took care of BB Julian and housework.

This is my Ah Kow and Ah Ti. See how big head is bb Julian! Everytime, Mummy breastfeed BB Gar Gar, Julian will sit and watch. I asked him if he wants Mummy's milk milk, he will feel so embarass and laugh. However, little did he knows that, on paediatrician and nanny's advices, Mummy actually mixed the breast milk into his bottle feed. Ha ha...

So basically, Mummy's reknown "International Airport" "Mousey" breastmilk is actually supporting both my "puppy" and "piglet".... (P.S. Nicole, do u want some too?)

BB Gar Gar 命名日

Garwyn Tung Hong Yi 陈泓峄

Daddy sent BB Gar Gar birthday (生辰八字) to geomancer (游龙子) to select a name. Mummy fell in love with the name 陈泓峄 the moment I see it. Then it was selecting an English name for him. We scrolled thro all baby names books, browse internet for a suitable name that bears Daddy's initial G. We short listed Gordon, Godwyn and even Garfield...

Finally Auntie Unique suggested Garwyn. I love the name very much because Julian has been calling BB Gar Gar all the time. It has Daddy's initial G and most importantly it sounded very much like Daddy's dialect name "Kah Wee". So with this name, he will still be our BB Gar Gar forever.
