Mummy! Mummy!
Scribbled by Jolene | 3:48 PM | 0 You Bark hereMy sister in law once told me that babies starts calling their parents at 10m so I've been longing for Julian to call me. He seem to but I was not sure he was calling me exactly until quite recently when he was 14 plus months. He started calling Dad then Daddy... then ma ma... and he was very "teh" when he did that. It melt my heart! Now he can pronounce it clearly - Mummy! Thereafter, he will call me whenever he wants help! He will call me so many times a day and sometimes I am beginning to "tak boleh tahan" (can't stand) him liao..
Julian is very clingy to me especially now that my tummy is getting bigger and he is like a indian or maybe i should say he has my family genes - he likes to hold my hand even from bedroom to toilet, living room to kitchen...
Julian horror X'mas shopping
Scribbled by Jolene | 3:09 PM | 0 You Bark hereGodma, Auntie Lorna (our maid) & Mummy brought Julian for pre-christmas shopping yesterday. He enjoyed himself but Godma had done something silly and scared the wit out of everybody in the MRT station. Only Julian remained happily blessed without knowing what had happened.
On our way home, we needed to make a big detour from Wisma to Orchard MRT station and it was quite crowded cos it was a weekend. Godma walked in front carrying her precious godson, Mummy was in the middle cos my 7m tummy is so heavy and I had to walk slow. Lorna was behind us cos she needed to push the stroller with our shopping bags (Our shopping trip with Prince Julian is always an entourage one). Then Godma suddenly put Julian on the platform next to the escalator to search for her MRT farecard. Mummy saw that and wanted to reach for that mischievious boy immediately but he started walking on the platform. The passer-by saw it and was shock but never did anything to stop it just blocking my way to grab him. Godma saw that and realised her mistake and immediately dash for him. He was reachng the end of the platform and luckily he stopped and look down at the platform. Luckily he didn't think it is a slide and plunge otherwise the consequence is going to be serious. Godma and I were scared out of wit, she grabbed him and hugged him so tightly refusing to let go.
Godma went home forgetting about her shopping bag and the shock was not over for us. We kept sms'ing each other about the horror and she kept apologising to me.
I am normally calm but there were 2 times that I was really scared of losing him. First time was when he had a seizure and this was the 2nd time.
I woke up in the middle of the night at 4am, could not sleep and just watch this little boy soundly aslseep and recalling the incident. Dear Julian, u know how much Mummy and Godma love u, we can't lose u.
My dog name "MANJA"
Scribbled by Jolene | 2:42 PM | 0 You Bark hereI should have called her "MANJA" and not Nicole but since I'd adopted her so the name "NICOLE" comes with it!
I dunno what kinda of Mummy am I! My children are all fussy about food and they all need to be fed and coaxed for meals. For Nicole, my maid has resorted to feeding her and kana scolding from me a few times. She is the most health conscious dog in the world I believe. She will never forget her after dinner dessert - FRUIT! Regardless of what time she finishes her food, even in the middle of the night, she will come to me and scratch my hand till I wake up then lead me to the kitchen to see her empty bowl. Since she is my darling and she will look at me with her pair of beautiful and pitiful eyes, I GIVE IN LOR! I'll cut the fruit for her. (OK! Blame me! I spoilt her!) She will not eat her dry food dutifully! My maid said it's too hard for her. We have to mix carrots or salmon or beef.... into her dry food and coax her to eat. However, when I bring her down to feed stray dogs, she will compete with the strays and eat the dry food! With nothing OK! Just dry food! Sometimes, I feel like kicking her ass for that!
There's a chinese saying "好狗不挡路" and she is definitly a "坏狗". She always block the way especially when I am in a hurry and she dare to walk in front of a 7m pregnant woman whose tummy is so big and can't see her toes. She will walk so slowly and sometimes I just accidentally kick her. She will turn around and look at me before she decided to stay away from my path.
She has poor eye sight too! There was once I brought down for her usual stroll while waiting for Daddy to come down. Suddenly she saw a man wearing bermuda, she was so happy that she ran, jump and hop towards that fellow. She went to the guy and look up then smelt his hairy leg before she confirmed that's not her Daddy then ran back to me! (Dear Nicole, not all men wear bermuda is your father OK?! Even Mummy's short sighted oso can tell that was definitly not my husband) So during her last visitation to the Vet, I asked him to check her eye sight for short sightedness or cataracts. Vet said her eye sight is perfect!
She loves massages! Whoever massages her, she will call him or her godfather or mother! She will just shiok till she turn over and let u do it. If u stop, she will either use her paw or her nose to scratch your hands and ask u to continue....

Scribbled by Jolene | 5:40 PM | 1 You Bark hereMummy has finally enrolled him for a Preschool - 2008 Intake after much research and consideration. His first day of class shall be Jan 4, 2008 (Fri). It's where he is attending MY GYM lesson currently. They also do preschool which combines fitness exercise with literacy and numeracy. It also incoporate plays, art & craft lessons in it but the disadvantage is that it doesn't have Chinese lesson. The teacher to students ratio is 1:3 so the teacher can give more attention to the children. He will be in the caterpillar class and the duration of the class is 1.5hour.
Course Fees is S$360.00 a month with one month deposit. So far Daddy has not commented on the fee so I hope Julian will enjoy his class and learn.
P.S.: Julian study hard, OK!? Popo has got you a haversack and u can carry a lot of rubbish to school just like Mummy did when she was a kid. Ha Ha....
Julian's "big business"
Scribbled by Jolene | 5:33 PM | 0 You Bark hereJulian was playing in the room and he farted. Yee.... so smelly. Then he suddenly made a dash to the toilet. At the entrance of the toilet, he looked so panic cos he has forgotten to hold Mummy's hand (which he would usually do) and he didn't know how to pull down his training pant. Luckily the observant Mummy saw his urgency and followed him earlier. With Mummy's help, he was able to sit on the potty in time to do his "BIG BUSINESS". I could see his facial expression after that, "WHAT A RELIEF!"
Too bad! I dun have a camera with me.
About Honey
Scribbled by Jolene | 9:40 AM | 0 You Bark hereOld folks always tell me to feed baby with honey no matter how I explain to them NO NO! So now I'm putting it down once and for all.
Extracts from The Sunday Times dtd Nov 18, 2007.
"Infants under one year old, however, should not be given honey.
Honey contains a temperature resistant bacteria known as clostridium botulinum. It produces toxins that causes food poisoning.
In adults, the stomach acids remove toxins, but infants have insufficient acidic gastric juices or gut bacteria to remove them. In serious cases, the toxins may cause nerve paralysis and breathing porblems."
The story of Fillial Piety
Scribbled by Jolene | 1:57 PM | 0 You Bark hereI remember my primary school Chinese teacher used to tell me this story that leaves a deep impression in me. Now I'm going to write this story down for my children and those reading the blog.
Long long time ago, there was this son who treated his old age father badly. He refused to let him eat with his family on the table every meal time. He would give his father his meal contain in a coconut husk and made him sit at the doorstep to eat it.
One day, he saw his precious only son trying to carve something out of a coconut husk. He asked him what he was doing. His son replied that he was now making a bowl out of the coconut so that when his father was old like grandpa, he could do the same to him!
So I guess u know the moral of the story!
Julian's New Bag
Scribbled by Jolene | 3:14 PM | 0 You Bark hereMy loving Julian
Scribbled by Jolene | 11:28 AM | 0 You Bark hereYesterday, we were preparing to go back to my in-laws place. I took out a pair of shoes for Julian to wear. Then I walked away to do my thing.
I heard Julian calling "Mummy....Mummy..." so I walked to him. He was trying to open the shoes cabinet door but was very tight. The door slammed on his face and yet he was still trying hard. I tried to figure out what he was doing. He actually tried to pull out a pair of shoes which I normally wear during my outing for me. Actually I was wearing shorts and intended to just wear my CROCS but since he was making so much effort to take out a pair of shoes for me so I have to wear the shoes.
So imagine how Mummy look that day!? Shorts with a pair of canvass. Never mind, it's a lovely gesture from my loving Julian.
Nicole's sick
Scribbled by Jolene | 5:49 PM | 0 You Bark hereNicole is down with a skin allergy again. Seeing her body itches so much, it really pains Mummy. Her ear has an inflammation after she was back from usual grooming. Mummy and Daddy brought her to the vet on Wednesday evening.
She was so itchy that the Vet decided to give her a steroid jab to ease her itch. Baby was watching his sister receiving the jab and the micro-chip injection (O yes! now my daughter has an micro-chipped implant finally!) but he was not crying at all. This smart boy knew it was not for him. He hugged his sister tightly when Mummy told him jie jie was going for a jab.
The Vet prescribed her with anti-biotic for 2 weeks, some anti-histamine for her itch and a bottle of lotion for her to apply. So now Mummy is diligently feeding her with medicine and taking care of her wound. From now on, Mummy will make sure that I will bathe Nicole twice a week till she recovers and to bring her own towel and shampoo during her grooming. Poor Nicole! Mummy and Di Di love you....
Julian's Insecurity
Scribbled by Jolene | 5:28 PM | 0 You Bark hereJulian has not been sleeping well lately. Part of it was due to he was not feeling well. The other reason - I dunno but old folk said he could sense that baby G is arriving so he is jealous.
Julian has been waking up very often in his sleep. Mummy is now very sleep deprived cos of him. Besides that, he refuses to leave Mummy for even a minute. He refuses to let the maid carry, bathe him.... Daddy is still ok but preference will be Mummy. Worst, Daddy will always threaten to slap him if he crys due to insecurity or that Daddy said - for no reason!
Dear Julian, Mummy is into my seventh month pregnancy and needs a lot of rest now. Please dun torture Mummy anymore. Mummy would like to carry you as often as I can but do u know u are 10.6kg now and Mummy's tummy is getting bigger and bigger..... Mummy always love u! Be assured!
Scooby Doo - Monster Unleashed 2
Scribbled by Jolene | 8:53 AM | 0 You Bark hereBaby Julian watched Scooby Doo on Ch 5 last night. He was so engrossed with it that he was reluctant to take his shower. So Mummy had to coax him by telling him that the frog in the toilet was calling him to shower it (he will always pretend to shower the frog in the toilet while Mummy shower him). So he gave me a "Haii" sigh and walked to the toilet for his shower.
We continued watching the show for a while after the shower. Mummy asked if he likes Monsters. He kept shaking his heads and then fell asleep.
(This is the frog that he will shower every nights....)
Baby G - 24 weeks
Scribbled by Jolene | 10:59 AM | 0 You Bark hereBaby G is 24 weeks old now. Yesterday Mummy went for a follow up. BB G is very active and G moves non-stop in mummy's tummy. The moment Dr Lee tried utlra-scanning G, G started to move the head, waved hands.... No wonder Mummy is beginning to feel aches all over the body.
Now Mummy's appetite has improved. Even after dinner, Mummy will feel hungry again by 10pm and starts looking for SUPPER. Yesterday, Daddy bought a spring chicken back. Yummy! Now Mummy weighs 52.2kg and BB G is a mere 704g baby. Mummy's next appointment to see BB G again is 23 Nov 2007. CYA! BB G..\: )
