My Mummy is a Monster

(Can u see her 2 horns sticking out of her hair? Look at my expression and u can tell...So scary!)

I'm 13 months now so I can host my own blog. My first blog shall be - My Mummy from Hell! She is a Monster! Let me tell you why :(

Mummy, Daddy, Popo and I went to Causeway Pt for a Dim Sum lunch today. Mummy ordered some nice dishes but she only gave me a bowl of century egg congee. I kept pointing to her I wanted that fried beancurd skin and she just refused to give me! So I decided the best protest is to shut my mouth - DUN EAT! Daddy took over the feeding so that my devil mummy can eat. She was happily eating up all the rest of the dishes with me watching. Luckily she had some conscience and gave me a small bite of her SIEW MAI. Wow! it's MARVELICIOUS (short for marvelous and delicious)! So I kept telling her "mum mum....". She was nice initially, she cut them into small pieces and shared it with me! O no! My tongue had this burning sensation. My face immediately turned red and I was perspiring on my head! She had chilli on her chopstick! I screamed but I still wanted the siew mai. I finished almost one and half pc of it then she told me "NO MORE!". She wanted the remaining half so she told me NO MORE! of cos I wouldn't take that. I wailed out loud with my big mouth wide open. And I made sure 2 rolls of tears comes out.... She had no choice but to give me another pc of siew mai but I was too angry to eat it anymore. Daddy carried me out of the restaurant. I guess it Daddy's tactic not to foot the bill.

Next Daddy brought me shopping around and finally meeting Mummy and Popo at the basement Guardian Pharmacy. I was having a good time with Daddy cos Daddy got me a balloon from MacDonald. Not noticing Mummy was coming and SHE STRIKES AGAIN! She carried me from behind and slowly moving me away from Daddy. U know I've separation anxiety and someone carried me from behind without knowing who it was. Of cos I was scared and I cried out loudly again. This time with my eyes tightly shut. She was laughing at my pathetic state and left Daddy to comfort me. She continued her shopping with Popo...

So do u think my mummy is a MONSTER!

It's either Baby Julian has his father gene or Mummy has watched too much "Sing Chan cartoon - 蜡笔小新" during pregnancy. He is basically a sheep under wolf skin.

Incident 1#
He invited Baby Jerselle to his class on Sat and kept kissing her in front of her parents until she couldn't stand him anymore. Poor Jerselle!

Incident 2#
He was at Daddy's handphone shop, there was this couple walking pass...saw our beautiful Nicole and the girl squatted down to stroke Nicole. The boyfriend was anxious that she would reveal her undies (she was wearing a very short hot pant）so kept pulling her pant behind. Then our Baby Julian saw her. Walked to her and grab her thigh. Luckily, he is still a baby maniac so the boy friend didn't realise his act and give a black eye. (P.S : Julian, she is only interested in jie jie not u, dun take opportunity!)

Incident 3#
Whenever there is a pretty girl on the cover page of a magazine, he will grab the magazine and start kissing it till it's full of his saliva.

So if u think u are a PRETTY GAL, STAY CLEAR OF HIS PATH!

Toy Story - PG

Last Sunday, Ch5 showed Toy Story so Mummy switched it over after dinner so Julian could watch the cartoon. It was suppose to be a Adventure Story of the TOYS but after Mummy's narration (so call parental guidance), it became a HORROR show for him!

The cartoon began with an Astronaut flying here and there in the space. Then he met his enemies, he destroyed them until he met a very powerful one that blew him into 2 pieces.... Mummy was afraid that he couldn't understand the story so she simplified it with her own version like...The Astronaut was flying here and there when he met the BACKSIDE MONSTER! O! He destroyed them so that the BM would not bite Julian anymore. O No! He met another BM, a more powerful one. He was trying to run away and at the same time avoiding his bites. BANG!....No need narration anymore! Julian saw the BM shot the astronaut into 2 pieces and he cried out loudly! Mummy was shock and quickly hugged Julian and tried hard to pacify him. (By the way, how do I know the good one will be defeated by the bad one)

Nevertheless, Mummy continued to narrate the story replacing all bad guys with BM. Baby Julian watched the show attentively (with his mouth wide open) and shaking his head occasionally.

Later when I told the incident to Auntie Unique. She said the meaning of PG means parent will guide the child in the right way so perhap next time when there is a PG show, I need to be guided by another sensible adult to ensure Baby Julian has a RIGHT PARENTAL GUIDANCE!

Backside Monster

How was Backside Monster being created? Here the story goes....

Baby Julian has a cute and tender bum (with a green patch) and Mummy is so tempted to bite his bum after every shower. So one day Mummy couldn't resist anymore and bite it! Julian cried out! Of course I wouldn't admit Mummy has done it. So immediately Mummy told him, "it's the BACKSIDE MONSTER! It's Ok... Mummy will protect your backside!" So Mummy became the good one, always protecting Baby Julian's bum.... Hee heee...

Nowadays, when Julian is very naughty or wouldn't sleep, Mummy will tell him story of BACKSIDE MONSTER which becomes a bedtime story for him. Maybe Mummy should start writing children story just like Madonna... but I'll do the HORROR one and who knows it will become another HARRY POTTER...

A Mother Journal - 母亲的感言

Finally Baby Julian is 1! See how difference he looks now and then. He was then a 3kg baby and now he is over 9kg! He has changed so much, grow so much during the last 12 months.

Seeing this little thing sleeping next to me every nights, I feel so contented and at peace. I've been putting a smiley face to bed every night cos of him. Although he is naughty and very hyper-active and he always wear mummy down, nevertheless he is Mummy's best medicine for bi-polar.

ON FOOD - I've never been a good cook so when I first realised that I have to cook for a baby after being a mother, I am worried! I basically started collecting recipes and asking around for advises when he was born! Baby Julian has a big appetite and a fine tongue! He started asking for solid when he was 4.5m old! As a 4.5m baby, the food in the market is quite limited as most of it is for 6m above. So it put me to test! He first started with Eu Yan Sang 四神糙米粉 recommended by his god mummy then he soon got tired of it. Next Auntie Samantha advised me to cook mashed potato with carrots, green peas with mashed potato, mashed sweet potato... Soon he grew tired of it too! He was about 5m plus then. So Mummy decided to cook the dreadful porridge! The porridge was bland and he didn't like it so Mummy panic and started asking around for advice again. This time Auntie Jessia recommended mummy to put a teaspoon of organic miso to give the porridge a taste and others suggested BOVRIL (Mummy's childhood fav!) He loved the miso but not the BOVRIL. So Mummy would always cook the porridge with miso, veggies and fish then blend it for this little one with 4 teeth. Mummy also went for Nutrition Talk organised by polyclinic to hone up my cooking skill. So far, I've cooked pasta, udon, apple porridge... for him. With the discovery of dried scallops (also a recommendation from god mummy and so far sponsored by her at S$13 a pack), mummy's porridge cooking skill has improved tremendously. Now mummy will blend a tub of grains to cook everyday. Ingredients will be veggies, meat and 5 small pcs of scallops. Julian will finish his dinner diligently. Seeing him eating to heartily, I'm so contented. Dear Julian, I will improve my cooking skill and add more variety to your daily meals. I PROMISE!

ON WEANING - I had tried to wean him off since he was 7m but was not successful cos he didn't want bottle feed and he didn't want the formula. Anyway, I was not persistent too cos my intention is too feed him till 1 year old. When he was about 10-11m, my milk supply dropped and he would cried every nights for milk. Then I started to panic and desperately trying to substitute him with FORMULA! Luckily, this time popo was around to help. With advices from the Mummy Support Club & the right FORMULA... He was weaned off quickly. I got him a Pooh Bear training cup on the advice from the Mummy's club and told it was milk milk from Pooh Pooh. He would kiss the bear on the cup and start drinking from it. I couldn't feed him but popo will do the job (also advice from the Mummy's). With the right BRAND, he is on FORMULA now. No more chasing after Mummy's breast. So finally my factory can rest.

ON PARENTING - I think women are really SUPER! When I was a pregnant. I really had no idea about what I should do as a Mummy beside having the experience of taking care of Nicole. So I read and read.. When Julian was born, I couldn't apply the theories cos very panicking. I couldn't even carry him properly. With nobody to help and the confinement nanny was gone... I struggled. Throughout the 12m, I am "P plate" (Probational) Mummy...learning along the way. I guess the responsibility and commitment is so great that I become a SUPER MUMMY. I become a better cook, can wake up in the middle of the night to check on him especially when he was sick... Those were the things I wouldn't be able to do it in the past. BUT being a mummy is forever a learning process. I tell myself, I will go on...

Julian's Retribution Day

It was Julian's unlucky day today but Mummy called it his Retribution Day (for tiring Mummy and popo everyday)! Julian had chickenpox vaccination today. Unfortunately, he met a naggy, long-winded old nurse who gave him a terrible jab.

There was an old nurse and a trainee nurse in the room. So while waiting for the old one to administer the jab, he was still walking around the room teasing the young trainee (the very cheeky Julian). When finally the naggy old nurse was ready, she asked Mummy to hold him tight, then slowly poke in the needle and slowly injecting the fluid into his arm. At this moment, he was already wailing... Ha ha, serve him right...

Anorexic Nicole

Naughty Nicole is anorexic! She has not been eating her dog food for the past few days...

Mummy has put in effort to make beef, salmon, boiled eggs, liver... and mixed it into her dog food and she just refuses to EAT IT! Regardless of how much coaxing.

She is only interested in Baby Julian's bowl but how can she takes human food!

Darling Nicole, it is not Mummy being biased and I love didi more than u! U are a dog and it is not good for u to consume human food. How I wish I can ask a fairy godmother to turn u into a beautiful gal then u can eat whatever u want!

BUT 1 thing pissed me off yesterday! Auntie Unique came by yesterday and Mummy started complaining to her. She said she would try to feed Nicole. Guess what! Nicole finished her food! Although Mummy was glad that she finally ate her food but angry that she finished her food for Auntie Unique! At that moment, I felt like packing her bag and send her off to Auntie Unique's house to stay for a few days.... Still angry with her!

Julian's 1st pre-birthday celebration

Julian's 1 year old pre-birthday celebration on the 15.07.2007 (Sun) at Beng Hiang Restaurant. This is his favourite character - Winnie the Pooh, 2kg cake at S$70.00 from Creative Bakery

He doesn't know what's going on except that this gathering has all his favourite toys and "mum mum" (food). As for the angbao....of cos Mummy keeps and Daddy will foot the bill. Julian enjoying the cake here.

First Outdoor Walk

Julian's First Outdoor Walk with his pair of new shoes on 11.07.2007. He accompanied jie jie Nicole to visit a Vet cos the naughty Nicole has a skin allergy. While waiting for Nicole's turn, Daddy brought him to the next door to view cars. He was looking at the car catalog. (So Julian, which car do u intend to buy?)

It runs in Mummy's family line

Baby Julian is turning 1 soon. Mummy is busy planning for his 寿宴.
Mummy has just noticed that he looks more like mummy's family members. First, he has a pair of deep soul eyes like mummy (deep soul? - haha, mummy is thick skin). Then he has a dimple on the left cheek which resemble Winnie yiyi (best of all, he loves his pooh bear very much. As crazy as his Winnie yiyi.) And finally, he is as clever as mummy! Popo has just shown mummy my childhood photos and I realised that I've learnt to walk with support at 8 months! He started walking at 6m so its 青出于蓝更胜于蓝.... Julian, mummy's so proud of you!

The little prince is going to be 1 yr old soon. The chinese believes that baby can only starts wearing shoes after 1 yr old. So our family was making a fuss in sourcing for a pair of good walking shoes for this little one.

Mummy's concern - it has to enable him to walk in comfy n he doesn't feel he is walking with a pair on his feet.
Winnie yi yi's concern - he must be strapped safely and not get stuck in the escalator.
Daddy's concern - the typical hokkien saying lor "you pi, you qing, you tua leap ni" - it means cheap and good.

Conclusion : After all the fuss n decree from the Dowager (popo), Winnie's yiyi and Uncle Sing hurried down to Great World City over the weekends and bought this pair of certified "L" plated walking shoes for Kai Kai at the price of S$35.90. It has very soft soles. (A birthday present from popo.)

He is now practising with it at home for his BIG DAY. BUT he is walking at a McDonald. Haha...

Mummy's birthday

It's Mummy's 35th Birthday on 25.06.2007. Where was Baby Julian and Nicole? In the background lor...Daddy got the cake so late. Both of them were snoring away already.

Julian's outing

It's HP family Day! Auntie Jannet got a lot of tickets to the Zoo. So the whole family went to the Zoo except Nicole (cos pets are not allowed). Julian saw some fishes and birds then he fell asleep. He missed the monkeys, tigers, zebra.... but luckily Auntie Jannet took a wrong route and we had to walk back again. Julian woke up just in time to see all those he had missed (except SHEBA and INUKA). He was not interested in all the brown color animals (eg Hippo, Rhino) but more interested in Ostrich, birds, giraffe and zebra.

Nothing much interesting cos there were more people than animals and we left at about 1pm.

Julian's milestone @ 11m

Baby Julian is 11m old today. Daddy claimed that he has taken his first step on the 14.06.2007. Daddy is so proud of baby Julian's achievement. Besides walking, Baby Julian also can hold his drinking cup and drink from it. He is now an expert in pointing his finger directing people what he wants and where he wants to go. BUT still refuse to talk...

Julian's 1st Bicycle

Julian got his 1st Harley Davidson today. Mummy brought Daddy to the Bicycle Shop to pay for it! It's S$38.00.

Our Baby Julian has never been able to sit still but this is an exception. No more backache for mummy!

Nicole biopsy result

Nicole's biopsy result is out. Dr. Tan said it is a abnormal growth of hair follicle... Now Nicole has recovered and she is as pretty as ever.

JRT updates... 10m

JRT is no longer a puppy anymore. He refuses to eat porridge but prefer to eat rice. So that saves Mummy the hassle of cooking for him....(Lazy mummy)

Presently the only baby food he still wants is Mummy's breast milk. The naughty mummy will give him choice - LEFT or RIGHT? Mummy will always teases him by lifting the shirt up showing both sides. He is so delighted and will always choose the one that is fuller....When will he want to be wean off!? Sigh...: <

Ambassadors for McDonald - SHREK family!

My mummy is a charitable person. She found out that McDonald is appealing donation for needy children and she immediately bought this pair of ears. Then she is forcing me, jie jie and daddy to wear this while she happily snap photos for everyone.

Poor me! She even forced me to wear a green tee!

My GYM

Daddy had for once accompanied Julian to a trial lesson at MY GYM on 26.05.2007, Sat. Mummy told Julian it was his “HONOUR”. Daddy played with him for 50min throughout the lesson. Mummy and popo just sat there and laughed.

Mummy has enrolled him for a term which is 8 weeks and that cost Daddy S$355.00 (inclusive of registration fees)! Have fun, Julian!

Nicole is FINE!

Thank you everybody out there for your care and concern. Nicole had removed her stitches on 25.05.2007. She is doing fine now except that her biopsy report is not out yet. She had her 1st shower (after her op) on 28.05.2007. Now she smells so nice…
O yes! She has put on weight too! From 6.3kg to 6.7kg, Mummy is now considering enrolling her for Marie France… (Nicole, no more salmon and beef!)

Julian’s eyes test

Julian had his eyes test on 24.05.2007. The consultant said he has high degree eyes (MYOPIC). So he is subjected to another round of eyes test 6 months later….

Julian's milestone @ 10m

Baby Julian is 10m old! Mummy and Daddy have endured 10 months of terrorism and sleepless nights!

He still refuses to mumble the magic words Da Da and Mama but he will eeee..aaaa...haii haii haii the whole day. Mummy has difficulty weaning him off despite all the advices from the PD and lactation advisers but he has stopped sucking pacifier when he was 9m old. He turns to Mummy's nipples instead!

This JRT has learnt some actions like pressing the lift buttons, shaking his head when we said No No.. and of cos getting naughtier!

Julian @ play

Mummy has sent Julian to another trial class at kidz campus on 19.05.2007, Sat - 3pm. The class consisted of songs and gym exercise - lasted for 45min.

He was having so much fun that nobody could hold him back. In the class, there was an indian boy who was 1 day older than him. He kept going after him. Julian was a sly boy, he first planted a kiss at the boy so the mummy thought he was friendly, next he followed the boy into the tunnel (see pic) and scratched his eye.

He was very active in the class and was crawling everywhere. In the end, the teacher gave him on sticker - MARVELOUS! I think she should give him a "MISCHIEVOUS" instead!

Nicole's Operation

Nicole has undergone her operation on 16.05.2007 and the operation was a success. She is given 14 days MC at home. She is given painkillers and a bottle of solution to clean the wound. Her stitches will be removed 10-14 days later. Seeing her stitches, Mummy is so heartache.

I was so worried through out her operation and I kept calling the clinic to ask about her. Finally Daddy and Mummy got the call to pick her up at 6pm.

Through this operation I have realised that how much I love Nicole and how dear Nicole is to Mummy. I really can't imagine life without Nicole by my side. Darling Nicole, Mummy love u very much!

My first Mother's Day

My First Mother's Day (13.05.2007) with Baby Julian. I received a kiss from Nicole and Julian this morning. No presents from them but they are already the best presents to me.

I wish my children Good Health and Long Life! I LOVE U ALL, DARLINGS!

Nicole's surgery

Nicole is scheduled to go for her surgery to remove the lump on her neck on the 16.05.2007. She will have to fast on Tuesday after 9pm and no more water on Wednesday after 7am. Mummy has cooked beef steak for her on that day.

According to Mount Pleasant Clinic, she will be admitted on 16.05.2007 at 9:30am. The vet, Dr Kasey Tan will do a medical checkup for her to ensure her health is good enough to endure the operation. Operation will be performed in the afternoon which is removal of lump and dental cleanup. She should be discharged on the same day evening.

Please say a prayer for my darling Nicole.

Nicole's motherly instinct

We came back from our usual stroll yester-morning. Nicole found 2 small little kittens near our lift. Her motherly instinct kicks in. She kept smelling the 2 little things which is as small as a rat. I thought Nicole was playing with 2 rats.

I contained the kittens in a box and brought them home worrying that the students nearby might abuse them. I fed them with the only milk available - breast milk. Then I called the stray cats association to pick them up but they said I should put them back to the same place cos their mummy might come back for them. So we put them back again.

Later at about 10pm, I brought Nicole down for a stroll again. First thing Nicole did was to go back to the same spot to look for the kittens but they have been removed.

I think it's time for Nicole to be a mummy too cos her motherly instinct has kicked in. She will be a wonderful mummy!

Daddy's on holiday

Daddy has gone for his week long holiday, leaving jie jie and me to Mummy's care. Mummy has engaged popo's help to take of us.

Jie jie loves it so much cos she can get plenty of massages from popo..

Initially I was very afraid of popo cos' I've separation anxiety mah! But I'm coming to get use to the presence of popo now. However Mummy said popo is going back on Friday morning. Haiii...: ( (sigh!)

Popo will always carry me to the lift to press the button which I enjoys alot but 1 thing I dread so much is popo's 大悲咒. She will chant non-stop to mummy about Unique yiyi or Uncle Daniel even when mummy is breast feeding or coaxing me to sleep.

One night (3:30am) I woke up and didn't find mummy beside me, I was very scare and crawled to the toilet to look for her. Popo carried me from behind. I turned around and saw popo - I was shocked! I thought my nightmare has become true! My mummy has turned into popo! I cried hysterically! Luckily, mummy came out from the toilet!
